Julianstown Christmas Market
The Christmas Market Returns.
No sooner has the trick or treating finished up, then our focus changes to the next big holiday; Christmas. In past years, there was a tradition of a Christmas Market in Julianstown community centre. This proved to be a really popular event in the community and a fantastic get together for all the people of Julianstown and the surrounding villages, united by the sweet treats, carol singing, aroma of mulled wine and special crafts you only get in a Christmas Market. Then suddenly, the Christmas market stopped…..
Well, 2017 sees the return of the Julianstown Christmas Market, and this years event promises to re-establish the tradition and truly get the Christmas spirit flowing in the community.
This year’s Christmas Market will take place on Sunday November 19th in Julianstown Community Centre and will kick off at 12pm running until about 6pm that evening. With so much going on it’s going to be difficult to fit it all in.
You can find directions to Julianstown Community Centre here
It wouldn’t be a Christmas Market without fantastic artisan crafts, products and treats. We will have more than 20 stalls with the best of local arts and crafts, textiles, foods and more. We’re really pleased with the quality of the local entrepreneurs who want to participate in this years Christmas Market with the likes of Savage Cat Jewelry, Fine China by Dermot Peakin, Susanne Deasy Designs and Little Gems Jewelry to name just a few.
We’ll post a more comprehensive list of stalls in the coming days.
Spreading the Christmas Spirit.
The Christmas music and song will be provided by the angelic voices of the Mornington Gospel Choir.
Anyone who has seen the Mornington Gospel Choir perform before knows what a talented bunch of singers this group really is and for those of your that have not, well, lets just say come along to the Christmas Market and you’ll be in for a treat.
The choir will be performing a selection of Christmas carols to add a lively and magical atmosphere to our event and we’re very much looking forward to it.
So many local businesses have very generously donated gifts to our bumper raffle to be held on the day. There are so many awesome prizes to be won and we’re very grateful to everyone who has donated something that we can give away as a raffle prize. Buy enough tickets and who knows? Between the great stalls and the raffle you might get all of your Christmas shopping done in one afternoon. Not bad eh?
Visit the Man in Red.
No Christmas Market would be complete without a visit to the man himself, Santa Claus. We all know he’s got a busy schedule to keep but we’ve managed to pull a few strings and get him to come along to our Christmas Market to meet some of the lucky local boys and girls and find out what it is they want for Christmas. Word is, he likes to do a bit of reconnaissance this time of year to find out what his elves need to be building more of.
